Pamplona is a Colombian municipality, located in the department of Norte de Santander. It is the capital of the Province of Pamplona and its economy is based on gastronomy, agriculture, tourism (especially religious tourism) and education.
It is known as the “Mitrada City”, due to being the seat of the Archdiocese of Nueva Pamplona, the first Catholic diocese in the region. The University of Pamplona, a prominent public university in the region, has its headquarters in the city.
