El Banco is a Colombian municipality located in the southernmost part of the department of Magdalena; at the confluence of the Magdalena and Cesar rivers. It is part of the Momposina Depression.
The annual average temperature is 29ºC, but in the hot season the temperature reaches 40ºC. The relative humidity is 76% and in the rainy season up to 1500 mm are collected.
