Quibd贸 is a Colombian municipality, capital of the department of Choc贸 and one of the most important towns in the Colombian Pacific Region. The city is located in one of the most biodiverse regions of Colombia, close to large ecological reserves such as the Ember谩 National Natural Park, it is also one of the regions with the largest number of indigenous reserves.
Quibd贸 is located at an altitude of 43 meters above sea level. It has an average temperature of 28 and is one of the areas with the highest rainfall in the world.

Given the wooded geography of the region and its humid tropical climate with very high rainfall, access by land to the capital city of the department is not easy and access is easier by air from the main cities in the interior of the country (Bogot谩, Medell铆n and Cali) Quibdo has the El Cara帽o airport that connects the city with the other regions of the country.
Transportation within the different districts of the city is done mainly by means of cars, canoes and launches. Most of the corregimientos are along the tributaries.
