Ciénaga is a Colombian municipality in the department of Magdalena, also known as “The Capital of Magical Realism”. The city is located on the shores of the Caribbean Sea next to the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta at the northeastern end of the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta. The city is located at an altitude of 3 meters above sea level and the temperature has an average of 30°C. Ciénaga is 35 km from the city of Santa Marta.
